DRAWING & PAINTING

Marianne Stokes teaches art in her studio and at Jantzen Beach Mall.  She concentrates on mixed-media with an emphasis on portraits and anatomy (she also teaches landscapes).  Beginners welcome.  Contact her at 360-574-2189 for details.

NW FREEMODEL DRAWING GUILD

All Artists are invited to attend our wonderful, free drawing guild. Yes, it really is free!  We have no officers and no fees!  We are a group of very dedicated artists who love to draw or paint the human body or face and come together weekly for about 3 very disciplined hours. We start at 12 noon at two beautiful locations graciously donated to us -- one in downtown Vancouver at the Marketplace Mall, corner of Evergreen and Columbia on Saturdays; the other in Portland at Jantzen Beach Indoor Mall at the Community Room by the food court on Wednesdays. On the first 2 Wed. of the month we hire a professional model for a single 3 hr pose. For both wks total it only costs $5...a huge deal!! There are no other art assoc. that offer this bargain!!
All that is required are a pad, pencils or paints and that you love art! We ask you to be willing to pose for about 20 or 30 minutes on occasion wearing your regular clothes although we love leotards! We welcome all artists at any level. While it is best to arrive on time for good spot, some arrive later and leave early. It is your call.
Our goal is not just to become excellent at drawing, but just as important to enjoy our art and to enjoy each other!!
